Lanning already recruiting at historic pace in Eugene

We already knew that Lanning was an elite recruiter. Some of the names he surrounded himself with on his staff were solid names, but not all of them had a reputation as elite recruiters.

Now as we sit here in early July, Oregon's 2023 class ranks No. 17 nationally on 247 and as high as No. 12 on On3. After the fireworks from Moore's commitment I decided to take a look at Oregon's all-time program commitments on 247, and what do you know, two of them have come in the Lanning era.

2023 quarterback pledge Dante Moore ranks No. 5 at 0.9942 and 2022 offensive tackle signee Josh Conerly (now enrolled by the way), ranks No. 9 all time at 0.9918. I don't want to be someone that heaps praise before seeing results on the field, because don't get me wrong those are what really matter at the end of the day, but Lanning continues to win off the field leading up to the season.

With Moore in the fold it's not far-fetched to imagine this 2023 class taking off and in a hurry with top targets coming off the board throughout the month and the remainder of summer.
