Dan Lanning and company have wasted no time hitting the road as the dead period came to an end last night.
The Ducks, led by Matt Powledge, showed up at Texas CB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson's doorstep right at midnight for an in-home visit.
I'm told the visit went really well and Oregon has an "Outstanding" chance to add him in their 2022 class. He's been a junior Olympian his whole life and Oregon has been a dream school, especially with the track program. I'm not sure if running at Oregon is on the table but I imagine it's a realistic possibility.
Davis-Robinson, nicknamed "Smoke" is a legitimate 6-foot cornerback who has 10.4/10.5 speed in the 100 meters. He took official visits to Wyoming and UNLV and looked like he was going to sign with UNLV before deciding to hold off.
His family came away very impressed with the visit, so much so that he'll be in Eugene for an official visit next weekend. This thing has moved very quickly and the midnight visit and offer shows how serious the Ducks are about him.
