Nelson was also in Tallahassee to see Florida State last weekend, an early illustration of the geographic challenges the Ducks tend to face in recruiting, although that said, they've gotten better at overcoming those challenges in recent years by outworking other teams and getting prospects to come across the country to visit Eugene.
He told me the schools in his top list are those that keep in the most consistent contact with him. Look for Matt Powledge to prioritize getting Nelson on campus, possibly for the spring game or an official visit this summer, as he eyes a commitment during his senior season.
